A clear walkthrough of every stage in a professional China import project - from sourcing to clearance.
Importing from China is a fascinating, complex process that demands planning and attention to small details, alongside full planning of packaging, container math, duties, and standards that can apply to the imported product. A professional import partner that focuses on quality Chinese suppliers can deliver high-quality products at competitive prices, while meeting all the standards required for a quality import.
Following each stage protects the importer from customs delays and from fines that can apply if the importer fails to complete the required obligations in time for final import approval.
The process begins with identifying the customer's needs. We check whether the product has specific requirements that complicate sourcing in China, or whether it's a parallel-import product already imported into Israel - in which case we need to find a quality manufacturer and import it as a parallel import. During the intake call we complete a precise brief that we hand to our team manager in our China office.
The second stage is a professional sourcing process to identify the most suitable manufacturers in China. The work is done by our professional team in China based on the brief prepared in advance.
Next we screen the suppliers identified during sourcing. The screening filters out Chinese trading companies and leaves the actual manufacturers of the required product.
We negotiate prices, MOQs, lead times, and payment terms - and capture all of it in a contract that protects the customer. This includes IP protection clauses where relevant.
Before mass production we obtain samples and validate them against the customer's specification. Sample approval is the trigger for launching mass production.
During production we maintain ongoing oversight. Pre-shipment QC at the factory protects against defects and packaging issues. Shipping mode (air, sea, rail), insurance, and customs clearance are all handled before the container leaves China.

The single biggest predictor of a smooth import is the quality of the brief. Spend extra time on the brief at the start of the project - functionality, materials, packaging, certifications, target cost. Every later stage benefits.

Manufacturers, not trading companies.
Filter out non-manufacturing intermediaries.

Pre-shipment inspection plus full logistics.
Typically 8-16 weeks depending on category, MOQ, certifications, and shipping mode.
Manufacturers actually produce the goods. Trading companies resell from a manufacturer with a markup. Going direct to the manufacturer usually saves money and improves quality control.
Some categories require it - electronics, food contact, children's products. Your import partner should know which apply to your product.
By HS code, country of origin, and product value. They vary widely - check before pricing the product.
Sometimes. Legality depends on the brand, the product category, and the source. We evaluate case by case.
Hundreds to thousands of units depending on category. Smaller MOQs are sometimes negotiable but cost more per unit.
